This jacket is exactly what I had been looking for. Alot of down jackets have too many skinny ribs, or angled ribs or you can't remove the hood and I really just wanted something that looked like a regular jacket but filled with down or something that could maybe could pass as a leather jacket at first glance.
It's the least "puffy" puffer jacket I could find in Australia; and I tried looking everywhere (Macpac, Uniqlo, Cape/Anaconda and Kathmandu for comparison).
I recently travelled to Tasmania for a week in the middle of winter 2024 and didn't need any other jackets or layers beyond a long sleeve tee under this jacket.
The jacket comes with a removable hood and a drawstring bag to pack the jacket in. It's filled with real down (not polyester or a blend) so it's very light weight but is also good at doing what down jackets do; which is keep you warm!
I was a little apprehensive about ordering a product online without trying it on first. But the admin team were very friendly and responsive within a day or so when emailed.
I ended up with a size 6/30 after I returned a size 8 (my normal shirt size is an AU 8). But to be honest I didn't see much difference size-wise between the size 8 and 6 (it probably makes a difference for people who have a larger bust).
The returns process was fairly straight forward, I did have to additionally pay for a small admin fee and for the return postage costs; but it was worth it!
I would 100% re-purchase from Duck Apparel if I need another jacket.
There are so many people wearing the well-known South African brand down jackets - I just wanted something different but still have a quality product. I am so please with my new purchase - this different styling plus the detachable hood is a bonus. Beautifully finished. I normally take a size 32 but the size chart indicated that I could take a 30 with my measurements. So pleased I stuck with the standard 32 sizing, as it has a snug fit without being tight, so can also wear a lightweight jersey underneath. Price was excellent - got the summer discount and also an additional 15% off for my first purchase online. Best purchase this year !
I absolutely LOVE this jacket. I bought it because of the reviews for my trip to europe and look honestly when it arrived I was worried - because it was so lightweight! But it has been the best thing! Absolutely perfect for layering it's not a snow jacket but it's warm in spring weather. I never write reviews but had to write about how great this jacket is. If your not sure, get it you will end up living in it!!!

I absolutely love all of the duck apparel jackets and this one is no exception. They are incredible quality, fit well and look classy. I've recommend them to many of my friends after they had asked where I got them from.
This down classic jacket is so comfortable and light weight. Perfect for an Australian winter, (especially early morning soccer games) and of course for travel. If i could buy all the colours, I would.
So pleased with my jacket. Stylish, light and perfect fit. I followed recommendation for size 8 (I am normally a 10) and it is just right. Looking forward to taking it to Europe later this year.
Jacket feels light but still keeps you warm even in windy weather, great for travelling. In regard to sizing I'd go up one size as on the smaller side, had to exchange mine but this was a no fuss process and I received my new jacket quickly & efficiently.

Fab fit ., size 12. Have black one now have ordered duck egg one. Love the close together stitching.. much better than the larger pieces of padding and stitching. So light and warm.
